Thursday Night Football Recap: Indianapolis Colts 27 – Jacksonville Jaguars 10
You can see the confidence growing. Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts seem to be getting better each week. The Colts won their fourth consecutive game Thursday night to improve to 6-3 on the season.
Since the beginning of this four game winning streak it seems as if Luck’s confidence in himself and his teammates has grown by leaps and bounds. The rookie quarterback didn’t throw a touchdown pass, but instead ran for two touchdowns. Luck now has five rushing touchdowns on the season. Everyone expected RG3 to be an asset running the ball, but little did we know how effective Luck would be as a runner. Luck ended up with 227 yards passing and 18 fantasy points in standard fantasy leagues.
The Jacksonville Jaguars lost their sixth straight game, falling to 1-8 on the season. As we predicted in our Fantasy Five article, the Jaguars offense was again offensive, making the Colts defense a solid fantasy pick for anyone who listened to our advice.
Other solid fantasy players from Thursday night were Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne and Jaguars wide receiver Cecil Shorts. Wayne ended up with eight catches for 96 yards, while Shorts had six catches for 105 yards and one touchdown.
Moving forward we would recommend staying away from most players on the Jaguars. However, wide receiver Cecil Shorts has become a solid fantasy option for those of you looking for wide receivers.
The Colts are playing at New England next week so we would advice fantasy owners to stay away from the Colts defense. Andrew Luck, Reggie Wayne, and T.Y. Hilton are all solid fantasy options at this point. Next week’s match up between the Colts and New England Patriots could end up being a shootout.
