Thursday Night Football Recap: Denver Broncos 26 – Oakland Raiders 13
The Denver Broncos rolled past the Oakland Raiders Thursday night 26-13. The Broncos improved to 10-3 on the season while the Raiders fell to 3-10.
Peyton Manning once again had a great performance as he is cementing himself as one of the best quarterback’s in the NFL. He threw for over 300 yards with one touchdown and one interception. In addition, running back Knowshon Moreno had a tremendous game with 119 yards rushing on 32 carries and one touchdown. The 32 carries are a good sign for fantasy owners as clearly the Broncos have confidence in Moreno as their featured running back. Broncos tight end Joel Dreessen also had a quality fantasy game with five catches, one of which was for a touchdown.
On the Raiders, quarterback Carson Palmer continues to offer decent fantasy value despite playing on a terrible team. Palmer threw for 273 yards with two touchdowns and just one interception. Running back Darren McFadden returned from injury to rush for 52 yards on 12 carries. He also caught a touchdown pass. McFadden is someone who may still be available in fantasy leagues if fantasy owners lost patience and dropped him. He was clearly on a reduced work load Thursday night, but come next week he offers serious fantasy value. Darrius Heyward-Bey also caught a touchdown and had over 80 yards receiving.
Most leagues are in their playoffs right now, so this is crunch time. Knowshon Moreno and Darren McFadden both showed big time fantasy value with their Thursday night performances and are worth giving a serious look to starting week 15.
