Surgex Sports Fantasy Five: Week 14
The Fantasy playoffs are here! There are still some quality fantasy sleepers out there who could help put your team over the top. Check out our Fantasy Five below.
1. Bilal Powell (RB) New York Jets
Normally we would recommend staying away from any player having to do with the New York Jets offense. However, the Jets running game hasn’t been as terrible as the Jets passing offense. The Jets face a Jaguars team that is equally terrible to the Jets if not worse. Powell has gotten at least 11 carries the last three games and has three touchdowns over the last three games. If you’re in need of a running back give serious consideration to Powell.
2. Riley Cooper (WR) Philadelphia Eagles
Eagles quarterback Nick Foles is bringing stability to the Eagles passing offense. Cooper caught a touchdown pass last week against Dallas and week 14 the Eagles face Tampa Bay, who have given up the most fantasy points to receivers this season.
3. Cleveland Browns Defense/Special Teams
The Browns defense has 1o takeaways over the last three games and they face the Kansas City Chiefs week 14. The Chiefs offense has struggled all season long and they have 32 giveaways this season.
4. Jared Cook (TE) Tennessee Titans
Cook is a sleeper option at your tight end position if you are looking for one week 14. Cook has been targeted by quarterback Jake Locker 20 times over the last two games and was thrown to 12 times last week. It’s clear Cook is getting more opportunities under the Titans new play calling and against the Colts he has serious fantasy potential.
5. Mike Thomas (WR) Detroit Lions
With Ryan Broyles and Titus Young out for the season, Mike Thomas finds himself as the Lions number two wide receiver. Yes Calvin Johnson takes up a lot of the receptions, but the Lions have the top passing offense in the NFL and average over 300 yards passing a game. There is still plenty to go around for Thomas.
