Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins beat the New York Giants 17-16 on Monday Night Football to improve to 6-6 on the season, only one game behind the Giants (7-5) for the NFC East division lead.

The Giants led for most of the game until RG3 found Pierre Garcon into the end zone in the fourth quarter for an eight yard touchdown pass. Eli Manning and Giants offense were unable to really get going the entire game and could not get into field goal range to give kicker Lawrence Tynes a chance to win the game.

Although RG3 didn’t have a spectacular fantasy performance he did throw for 163 yards and rushed for 72 yards along with one passing touchdown. Pierre Garcon caught eight passes for over 100 yards and one touchdown catch.

Despite the Giants poor overall offensive performance, Eli Manning had a solid game. He did only have one touchdown pass, but threw for 280 yards. Ahmad Bradshaw rushed for over 100 yards, but was unable to get into the end zone. Tight end Martellus Bennett continues to be a pleasant fantasy surprise for fantasy owners. Bennett had five catches and another touchdown catch.

Despite the relatively low scoring game, both these teams have high powered offenses and they find themselves in the middle of a heated playoff race. Continue to monitor both teams players closely.
