Keenan Allen

KEENAN ALLEN

Wide Receiver, San Diego Chargers, Hometown: Greensboro, NC

After an outstanding All American high school career, Keenan Allen has made a huge impact on the University of California Golden Bears football team. With his long, muscle-toned 6’2 frame, amazing quickness and soft hands, Keenan is a natural playmaker. He is Cal’s all-time leader with 205 receptions, while ranking third on the school’s career list with 2,570 receiving yards and seventh with 17 touchdown catches. Keenan Allen was thrilled to be selected by the San Diego Chargers in the 2013 NFL Draft.

SURGEX: What do you think it takes to be an outstanding athlete?
KEENAN ALLEN: No matter what the sport is, it takes a huge amount of dedication, perseverance, and belief in yourself.
SURGEX: What is your proudest accomplishment?
KEENAN ALLEN: I’m really happy and proud to hold the record for most receptions at Cal. As a wide receiver there’s no better record to have. Maybe somebody down the line will take it away from me, and I’m always rooting for my Golden Bears, but it’s a nice one to have.
SURGEX: What do you look for in a nutritional supplement?
KEENAN ALLEN: The great thing about Surgex is that is has a product for every aspect of your workout or game. The pump does just that. It really gets you “pumped” before your workout. And the fix is great because it makes your recovery time much shorter.
SURGEX: What do you hope for yourself in the future?
KEENAN ALLEN: I’m hoping to take my game up another level with the Chargers. With Surgex’s help, of course.

David Amerson

DAVID AMERSON

Cornerback, Washington Redskins, Hometown: Greensboro, NC

With rare height and length for a cornerback, David Amerson has become a picking machine! He has set the ACC and NC State single-season record for interceptions with 13 last season, that mark ties for second in FBS history. David already ranks third on the Wolfpack career list for interceptions. He is a Walter Camp and ESPN first-team All-American, and won second-team honors from Sports Illustrated, the Associated Press, Yahoo, and CBSSports.com. However, the accomplishment that stands out the most of all is that David won the Jack Tatum Award, which is given to the nation’s top defensive back. David is very excited to be bringing his competitive edge to the Washington Redskins, having just been drafted by them in the 2013 NFL Draft.

SURGEX: What do you think it takes to be an outstanding athlete?
DAVID AMERSON: It takes a lot of focus and determination and love of the game.
SURGEX: What is your proudest accomplishment?
DAVID AMERSON: Winning the Jack Tatum award! That was amazing and really just a dream come true!
SURGEX: What do you look for in a nutritional supplement?
DAVID AMERSON: Being a cornerback I’m all about focus and intensity. A great nutritional supplement should help me focus more and get the most from my workouts. And Surgex definitely does that.
SURGEX: What do you hope for yourself in the future?
DAVID AMERSON: It’s all about the Washington Redskins, baby!

BASKETBALL

LORENZO BROWN

Point Guard, Minnesota Timberwolves, Hometown:  Roswell, GA

At 6’5, Lorenzo Brown has impressive height for a guard.  He’s best known for his elegant ball handling skills, as it’s pretty clear when watching him that he’s an extremely talented player whom the game comes very naturally to.   Lorenzo recently announced his decision to join the NBA draft in 2013.  For Brown, the timing was right for a new challenge after an amazing career at N.C. State.  He averaged 7.2 assists per game and was the first N.C. State player to lead the Atlantic Coast Conference in that category in 22 years.  He also averaged 12.4 points and 4.3 rebounds in 33 games. Brown’s best two games coincided with N.C. State’s two best wins: against Duke and North Carolina.  He is projected to be drafted in the 1st round.   Good luck, Lorenzo!

SURGEX:  What do you think it takes to be an outstanding athlete?
LORENZO BROWN:   Like everything in life, whether it be school work or basketball, it takes a lot of hard work.
SURGEX:  What is your proudest accomplishment?
LORENZO BROWN:  I was really proud to lead the ACC in assists.  I’ve always been a team player so that made me really happy.
SURGEX:   What do you look for in a nutritional supplement?
LORENZO BROWN:   I’m always looking to the best in every situation.  And I think that’s what a great nutritional supplement like Surgex does; it has something for every situation.  Pre-work you got the Pump, you got the Meal with protein and then a great, speedy recovery with the Thermo.
SURGEX:   What do you hope for yourself in the future?
LORENZO BROWN:  I’m really looking forward to entering the NBA.  I think with Surgex’s help, I’ll be up for the challenge!

CJ Leslie

C.J. LESLIE

Power Forward, New York Knicks, Hometown:  Holly Springs, NC

C.J. Leslie has been on the NBA radars since his early days in high school and now the world is about to see what they have all been talking about.   At 6’8 and with long arms, Leslie is a high flying explosive forward who can practically play 3 positions. He is athletically gifted and provides a plethora of explosive dunks and finishes throughout every game.   As a junior, Leslie averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds a game.  Most big men lack Leslie’s foot speed and lateral quickness, and that’s what makes him such a dangerous face-up option.  CJ Leslie recently declared his eligibility for the 2013 NBA draft, where most experts peg him as a late 1st round or early 2nd round choice.  We’re rooting for you, C.J.!

SURGEX:  What do you think it takes to be an outstanding athlete?
C.J. LESLIE:  Talent, but more than that it takes lots and lots or practice.
SURGEX:  What is your proudest accomplishment?
C.J. LESLIE: Averaging a double-double over the three games at the ACC tournament, including 22 points versus North Carolina in the semifinal was definitely a great moment.
SURGEX:   What do you look for in a nutritional supplement?
C.J. LESLIE:   So much of my game is about being above the rim, so I constantly need the energy.  Surgex gives me the boost I am looking for when it comes crunch time.
SURGEX:   What do you hope for yourself in the future?
C.J. LESLIE:  I hope to stay healthy and play for a great team in the NBA and be able to contribute any way I can.  With Surgex I know I’ll get there!
